Kodak Enhances KODAK NEXPRESS Color Digital Printing Platform with Next-Generation Digital Printing Technology

New front-end printing service software, more stable S series digital printing platform with very stable accessories, enabling NEXPRESS printing to achieve unprecedented productivity and diversification
Germany, Düsseldorf, the new series of famous S series "KODAK NEXPRESS production color digital printing machine" is Kodak brought to the digital printing market, innovative, highly productive and powerful, and embedded workflow applications Leader.
KODAK NEXPRESS S Series digital presses, including the KODAK NEXPRESS S3000, S2500 and S2100 production digital color presses, can print digitally 5-color at speeds of 2,100 to 3,000 pages per hour or 70 to 100 A4/letter pages per minute. Bringing new levels of modularity to the digital production color market, the new S-Class NEXPRESS press offers flexible cutting-edge options, input and output accessories, unique safety application features, and field-upgradable features. These options allow print service providers to provide unique applications, increase the amount of print, and grow their business. The modularity of the new printing system includes an input feeder option with up to 11,000 sheets of capacity, simultaneous printing with five different substrates, and the ability to perform single sheet and roll feeds on the same press. The output options support multiple high-capacity outputs, as well as online saddle stitch binding. The use of the near-line "KODAK NEXGLOSSER calendering unit" not only increases the aesthetics but also protects the printed surface.
With the unique imaging technology of the NEXPRESS platform, security printing applications can be realized. These options include "Magic ink character recognition" or MICR printing. It is possible to use white paper to print prints with security and anti-counterfeiting requirements without using pre-printed old cumbersome processes. Such as checks, promotional volumes and so on. Kodak's proprietary variable data micro-character printing technology can attach security information to documents such as cheques or coupons and coupons. In addition, static and variable data watermarking using KODAK NEXPRESS Fifth Imaging Unit Solution is another form of security printing that can be applied to documents. These applications provide printing providers with new capabilities to provide current users with outstanding service or expand into new market spaces to increase their print throughput.
As part of Kodak's principle that printers can make full use of their printing investment, NEXPRESS S-grade printing can also be upgraded in the field to add color imaging units, input/output options, and increase output speed. The enhanced technology features included in the award-winning S3000 are now also available in other presses in the S-Class series.
“S-class NEXPRESS digital production color presses allow print suppliers to completely shift from traditional offset printing operations to digital printing, or use the unique capabilities of NEXPRESS printing to complement their existing offset printing lines.” Total Kodak Electrophotographic Printing Solutions Steve Fletcher, Manager and Vice President of Kodak’s Graphic and Imaging Group, stated: “The new S-class NEXPRESS press provides the most productive and reliable print engine in the NEXPRESS product family, enabling commercial, traditional, photo or indoor printing suppliers, High-value, short-run, and/or variable data jobs can be printed, and they have the high image quality and productivity they need to increase daily print - and their profitability."
Three cutting-edge technologies that increase production efficiency and compatibility
While S-class NEXPRESS printing was promoted, KODAK added new technology to the NEXPRESS press digital front-end software platform, which seamlessly interfaces with the most widely used workflow application software. The KODAK NEXPRESS V, Vcs and Vp front-end options allow print service providers to integrate and optimize their workflows based on their designated applications and their business models.
Built on a scalable, open architecture, the KODAK NEXPRESS front-end allows users to manage workflow and printing from central workstations using superior color management tools.
The KODAK NEXPRESS front-end provides scalability from one to three nodes to maximize processing speed. With its native Adobe PDF print engine, the NEXPRESS V front end is compatible with PPML/VDX and Postscript, as well as PDF. RIP technology and features that support industry standards allow it to be easily and efficiently produced for complex applications.
The KODAK NEXPRESS Vcs front end has now added new features and is compatible with Creo front-end digital workflows in many data-intensive printing environments. The system supports VPS, PDF, Postscript, CT/LW PPML/GA, and other formats. Designed specifically for data-centric vendors such as direct mail companies and Transpromo printers, the NEXPRESS Vcs front end provides print drivers for MACINTOSH and PC systems to achieve maximum compatibility with the printer's current system. The introduction of these print drivers allows print vendors to maintain their existing workflow even in a mixed digital printing environment.
To accommodate the photo service market, the KODAK NEXPRESS Vp front end provides a two-node system that provides high productivity and document integrity when used with image-intensive documents. The KODAK NEXPRESS Vp front end offers faster drivers, RAID capabilities, photo-specific ICC color profiles, and the ability to scale to three nodes for complex file processing and even greater productivity.
All three NEXPRESS front-ends include the KODAK NEXPERT operator support system that provides print management and diagnostic capabilities.
Fletcher said, “Through these extensive accessories, more print providers choose NexPress to print and are confident to move toward digital color. They know that they can reach their business by meeting their needs and beyond their imagination. The growth."
