Kite Packaging Secures Two Acre Site in Swindon

New facility to open in February 2015, supporting continued growth

Kite Packaging has made a significant move by acquiring a two-acre site on the South Marston Industrial Estate in Swindon. The new location will serve as the company's expanded headquarters and is set to be fully renovated and operational by February 2015. This marks the relocation of Kite Packaging’s existing Swindon operation from its current base at The IO Centre, which is situated just off the A361.

As one of the UK’s leading packaging suppliers, Kite Packaging operates eight sites across the country. The recent acquisition in Maidstone was aimed at enhancing services to customers in the South East, and this latest investment in Swindon continues the company’s strategy of expansion. Since moving from Didcot to Swindon in 2007, the branch has grown significantly, now operating as a £5.5 million business with a workforce that has doubled over the years. It serves key regions including the Thames Valley, South West, and South Wales, working with major clients across the board.

The newly acquired site includes two units and surrounding land, offering an additional 18,000 square feet of space, bringing the total facility size to 36,000 square feet. Construction and refurbishment work have already begun, with plans for a grand unveiling in early 2015. Once completed, the site will feature a fully stocked warehouse capable of holding 5,000 pallets of packaging, serving both current and new customers. The updated offices will also support further growth within the employee-owned company.
