Network printing installation steps

Use WinAssist to set up the print server (IP address):
Step 1: Install EPSON Net Win Assist

Step 2: Set up the print server a. Run EPSON Net Win Assist from the Start → Programs menu.

b. When you run the program for the first time, the "Printer Model" position in the figure above is empty. Click this position to make it blue, and then click "Configuration".

c. Click the "TCP/IP" tab. The print server default IP address is 11.22.33.44. At this point, you can select "Manual" in the "Get IP address" field. Enter the desired IP address in the "IP Address" field. The IP address of the print server settings. Then enter the subnet mask, the default gateway. Click the "Confirm" button to continue.

d. Click OK. When the system prompts for a password, press Enter to continue (by default, the password is blank). The system needs some time to write data to the print server. When the data transfer is complete, click View->Refresh .

e. Settings are complete.

One of the Win2000 applications (Standard TCP/IP):
In Windows 2000, EPSON printers can print on the network using Standard TCP/IP. The specific installation steps are as follows:
Step 1: Please refer to the "Using EPSON Net Win Assist to Set Print Server IP Address" document to configure the corresponding IP address.

Step 2: Go to the printer folder, double-click the "Add Printer" icon, the system displays the Add Printer Wizard, and click the "Next" button.

Step 3: In the above figure, select the "Local printer" radio button and click "Next".

Step 4: In the figure above, select the "Create New Port" radio button and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" from the drop-down menu. After clicking the "Next" button, the system goes to "Add Standard TCP/IP Port" Printer Wizard", click the "Next" button.

Step 5: In the "Printer Name or IP Address" text box in the above figure, enter the print server's IP address "XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX" (refer to "Using EPSON Net Win Assist to Set the IP Address of the Print Server" ), the system will automatically fill in the "port name" text box named "IP_XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX" port name. Click "Next", the system displays a confirmation message, click the "Finish" button.

Step 6: At this time, the system requires the installation of a printer driver, and the driver corresponding to the printer is selected for installation. According to the system prompts, the installation is completed.

Win2000 Application II (IPP):
In Windows 2000, in addition to the standard TCP/IP method for network printing, you can also use the Internet Printer Port (IPP) method for network printing. The specific installation steps are as follows:

Step 1: Check the IPP URL of the print server (equivalent to the Internet address). Use EpsonNet WebAssist provided by EPSON to find out the address. (Refer to the "Set IP Address of Print Server Using EPSonNet WinAssist" document to configure the corresponding IP address)

Step 2: Go to the printer folder, double-click the "Add Printer" icon, the system displays the Add Printer Wizard, and click the "Next" button.

Step 3: In the above picture, select the "Network Printer" radio button and click "Next".

Step 4: In the image above, click the "Connect to the Internet or your Internet printer" radio button and fill in the "URL" text box with the IPP URL you identified in step 1. Click "" Next "button.

Step 5: Click "OK" button, at this time the system requires to install the printer driver, select the driver corresponding to the printer to install, according to the system prompts to complete the installation.

Network printer on Win9X peer setting (TCP/IP):
Step 1: Please refer to "Using EPSON Net Win Assist to Set Print Server's IP Address" document to configure the corresponding IP address.

Step 2: Install the EPSON Net Direct Print utility provided by Epson. Insert the CD containing the EPSON Net Direct Print utility software into the CD-ROM drive. The installation program will automatically run. Select to install EPSON Net Direct Print. Then follow the system prompts. The installation process. Restart the computer.

Step 3: Make sure that EPSON Net Direct Print is working properly. Click "My Network Places" in the Explorer and you will see a computer named "Epson-Lpr" in the picture.

Step 4: Install the printer driver. Insert the CD containing the correct type of printer driver into the CD-ROM drive and the installer will run automatically. (The installer default printer is installed on the computer's parallel port LPT1)

Step 5: Modify the printer port.
a. Go to the Printers folder, right-click the printer icon you wish to configure, select Properties on the pop-up menu, and click the left mouse button.
b. When the printer properties screen appears, first click on the "Details" tab and then click the "Add Port" button.
c. Click the "Browse" button. When you see the interface, double-click "Epson-Lpr" and you will see the print server's IP address and printer model. Click the printer icon and press the "OK" button to complete the installation.

Network Printer Settings in WinNT Network (TCP/IP)

Step 1: Please refer to "Using EPSON Net Win Assist to Set Print Server's IP Address" document to configure the corresponding IP address.

Step 2: Confirm that the TCP/IP protocol is installed in the system.

Step 3: Install the "Microsoft TCP/IP Print" service provided by WinNT. Open the "Services" tab of the "My Network Places" network properties, select the "Add..." button, and select the "Microsoft TCP/IP Print" option in the pop-up list , "OK" after the prompt to provide WinNT installation disk.

Step 4: Install the printer driver. Insert the CD containing the correct type of printer driver into the CD-ROM drive and the installation program will run automatically.

Step 5: Install and configure the printer.
a. Open the "Printers" folder and double-click to start the "Add Printer" wizard. In the first screen, select "My Computer". Then click "Next".
b. Click the "Add port..." button. Select "LPR Port" and click the "New port..." button.
c. Enter the IP address of the target printer, and then click "OK" (The IP address of the printer can be set by referring to the "Setting IP address of the print server using EPSON Net Win Assist" document.) After returning to the previous screen, click "Close" and proceed to "Next".
d. Select the correct type of printer driver, and then click "Next".
e. According to the screen prompts, complete the printer naming, whether to share, whether to print the test page and other items.
