1. Aquaculture:

3. Environmental monitoring

A special layer of bacteria/microbial membrane sensitive to changes in BOD concentration can be added to the oxygen sensor to create an instrument for measuring biochemical oxygen demand. A membrane made of different kinds of bacteria/microorganisms is added to the oxygen electrode and can be used for BOD measurement in different industries.
