Architects use 3D printed furniture models to create new user experiences

It’s difficult to try to imagine what the building is under construction and what kind of furniture you want to buy will end up, because people have no way to see what has not been formed from a full-size perspective, the only thing they can do. I just waited for the key to pick up my door from the decoration worker who packed the tools.

But this problem may be solved soon. Nat Ellis, head of 3D visualization at JB Architecture, has decided to use the 3D printing model to add more realism to the company's 2D blueprint.

Headquartered in Chichester, West Sussex, JB Architecture (jbA) was founded in 1999 by John Brown and has long been known worldwide for providing high quality design, structural engineering and planning advice for clients.

Ellis' mission included leading a planning and oversight production team that aims to improve the 3D visualization capabilities of jbA to produce 3D simulation images and animations for all customers. In the later stages, Ellis set out to add 3D printing technology to the required toolkit.

JB Architecture says that by using 3D printed architectural replicas to create real-world results, they have greatly improved the user experience.

“Most people either don’t understand 2D drawings at all, or because they have no experience, they have to rack their brains to imagine the final result,” Ellis said.

With the help of 3D printing, the obstacles between the architect and the customer can disappear instantly. The contractors and construction teams benefited from the fact that they were able to see 3D printed models of 1:50 size furniture.

JB Architecture invites well-known designers like Neptune Kitchens to design furniture and then put them into the environment, giving customers a visual and visual display of how they look and feel inside the building. The company will also combine the 3D printing model of real products with the concept of ideas to create a design for the customer.

Ellis' 3D printing model allows customers to freely combine the furniture they plan to see and see the final visualization. This is not possible before the introduction of 3D printing technology.

JB Architecture uses their AW3D HDx 3D printer to create scaled models of buildings, floors and furniture. The machine's molded size of up to 1150 cubic centimeters and a print layer height of 0.6 microns means the model will be very fine.

The HDx uses Airwolf's patent-pending JRx hot end, which is capable of easily heating at temperatures above 315 °C. HDx is also fully compatible with bridge nylon, nylon 645, and polycarbonate materials, and the $3,495 price is at the low end of the current professional-grade printer market.
