Blackbirds | Residential
“This project was a lot of fun. Our client was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved living in nature but ended up in a modern Barbara Bestor-designed home. The goal was to honor the client's personality while respecting the architecture of the space. We updated the artwork inherited from his grandparents, placing it in contemporary frames with large mats to blend the old and new seamlessly.†– Sally Breer

“I envisioned the interior as an escape from the chaos of the outside world—something akin to a surreal Dadaist retreat from the current political climate.†– Sally Breer
Hotel Covell | Hospitality
“I imagined I had put George to bed in Chapter 4 of Hotel Covell, so when Dustin suggested adding four more suites next door, it seemed fitting to draw inspiration from George’s daughter’s life. Writing what you know was my approach for Isabel, though I added some personal daydreams along the way.†– Sally Breer

“Functionality and practicality were key in this project. We designed a custom sectional from ultra-durable vintage military tents so that the family’s dog could lounge on it without anyone worrying about stains.†– Sally Breer

“The art in my home holds immense sentimental value. The large lightning bolt painting in my dining room was created by my mom, who doesn’t consider herself an artist. She painted it when she met my dad because she said it captured how she felt upon meeting him.†– Sally Breer
