1. Practically build a geography classroom from reality

The design concept of our digital geography special laboratory follows the Ministry of Education's "Specifications for the Construction of Special Geography Classrooms in Middle Schools", with "digitalization" as the guide to create a good environment for geography teaching; to facilitate students to refer to various geographic information materials and curriculum standards. The geography case materials of the school facilitate students to carry out practical activities, create conditions for inquiry learning and subject experiment activities; create conditions for heuristic, inquiry, discussion, and participatory teaching; infiltrate the frontiers of geographic science development and curriculum teaching. The construction and application of a dedicated digital geography laboratory will add wings to the study of geography.

Nanjing 50th Middle School Geography Classroom

During the implementation of the project, under the organization and guidance of the Nanjing Educational Equipment and Work-study Office, the General Affairs Department worked with geography teachers and professional technicians of the manufacturer to formulate a design plan based on the actual situation of our school. The total usable area of ​​the special geography classroom of our school is 115 square meters, and there is one special geography classroom and one equipment room. When choosing equipment, our school abandons the big and comprehensive ideas and strives to be "easy to use, enough to use, and practical". On the one hand, it actively learns about the use of the school from the geographically equipped classrooms. On the one hand, it fully considers our school. It is a junior high school, and has discarded some equipment that is not used in junior high school and less practical equipment. Considering that the campus of our school is small in size, with a large number of students, and the school premises are relatively tight, in order to be able to more fully play the role of a dedicated classroom, our school plans to place geographical instruments and equipment in a geographical special room, and try to place as much as possible in the equipment room. Some historical models are displayed so that the functions of the dedicated classrooms have also been expanded. This series of design and ideas based on specific reality has been affirmed by the urban technical decoration department.

Now the internal layout of the special classroom for geography in our school is reasonable, and the overall planning and construction are scientific and orderly. The equipment is equipped with the most advanced digital planet system, multimedia equipment and interactive whiteboard that can realize interactive teaching. When you walked into the classroom, you saw two large terrain models (China and the world), with a blue sky and white cloud sky dome on the top, and high-definition geographic images on both sides of the curtains, including the world climate, China's political district, and traffic. Enter a natural environment, so as to better enable students to pay attention to the theme of our geography learning-man-land relationship. A row of low cabinets under a window on one side of the classroom displays more than 20 geography teaching models including glacial landforms, loess landforms, flowing water landforms, Danxia landforms, karst landforms, and movable geological structure models. I let students Observe these geomorphic entities, intuitively find their characteristics, distinguish their differences, use active models to allow students to demonstrate geological structures-folds and faults, students can also split the topographic map, and then they can draw topographic profiles themselves , Exercised the students' experimental ability. The three-dimensional model of China's topography and the world's topography set in the back of the classroom show the three-dimensional image of China's main five-vertical and three-horizontal railway trunk lines, the main river basins of capital cities. Equipped with a voice-explained earth motion device, it can be used for continuous and fixed-point demonstrations (two to two days) and segmented demonstrations (such as summer and half a year). There is also a time zone demonstrator hanging on the left wall of the classroom. The "Digital Planet System" can also be used for dynamic demonstration through a digital video spherical screen, which can allow students to see the earth and other planets "from outer space". It has a strong three-dimensional sense and global vision, and is very vivid. It realizes resource sharing through Internet connection and remote control, as well as multimedia information such as sound, images, animations, videos, etc., and maximizes the full integration of geography teaching and information technology.

The special classroom for geography of our school was officially put into use in February 2013. We understand that the starting point and destination of educational technology and equipment are to meet the needs of education and teaching, to serve education and teaching, to serve teachers and students, and to continuously deepen education reform. Our school strives to build our school's dedicated geographic resource library, through the secondary development of existing resources by teachers, and constantly accumulate and improve. For the application of the "Digital Planet System", teachers must constantly update the new resources provided by the development company to the resource library of the school ’s special classroom for geography. For example, teachers can obtain texts from the Internet, Metropolitan Area Network or other channels. Resources such as videos, pictures, multimedia, etc. form a dynamic and three-dimensional resource display form through the image conversion technology of "Digital Planet System". On the other hand, teachers need to take the initiative to develop new curriculum resources, such as teachers' own teaching design, courseware and papers written. Only in this way can life and vitality be injected into the instruments and equipment to maximize their benefits.

In addition to the regular weekly geography classes in the special-purpose geography classroom, the school-based geography courses of our school are open once a week at regular intervals. Use records, equipment loan records and maintenance records, etc. Due to the high efficiency of the use of special geography classrooms, it provides great convenience for the teaching of geography and other subjects in our school. In just half a year, a special construction of a municipal laboratory has been carried out in the special geography classrooms. Applied training activities, 2 district-level open geography courses and multiple school-level open courses were held. Many leaders of our school personally participated in activities such as listening to and evaluating lessons. In the future, we will combine the actual conditions of our school and make full use of the advantages of the classrooms to further develop school-based active courses.

3. Promote the diversification of teaching methods with the help of technical means

With the help of the construction of a number of special classrooms, such as special classrooms for geography, our school's educational technology equipment has greatly improved, and its management has also been greatly improved.
