Viewing the Mystery of National Flag Printing Ink from the Youth Olympic Games

The printing team responsible for the opening ceremony program of this year's Youth Olympic Games shared some fascinating details, saying, "The Youth Olympic Organizing Committee gave us just three days to print over 60,000 copies, each containing 72 pages." While the tight deadline was certainly a challenge, it wasn't the most difficult part of the project. "The real challenge came from matching the colors of all the national flags on the program list," the printer explained. "Each flag needed to be vibrant, rich, and highly saturated. Normally, we use four-color process mixing, but that didn’t work here. The result wasn’t close enough to the actual flag colors. So, we created custom color formulas for each country’s flag, ensuring that the printed version looked almost identical to the real thing." Another key highlight of the program was its eco-friendly design. "We used 100% recycled paper, which feels soft and pleasant to the touch," they added. "Even the inks—both black and colored—are made from vegetable oil that's safe and non-toxic. There are no harmful chemicals involved at all." According to reports, the closing ceremony program is expected to be around 68 pages long and will likely be finalized by August 17th. Printing is set to wrap up by August 20th, though the organizers emphasized that these dates are still tentative and could change. This project wasn’t just about meeting deadlines—it was about achieving precision, sustainability, and quality under intense pressure. Every detail, from color accuracy to environmental responsibility, was carefully considered to ensure the final product met the highest standards.
