Homemade Colored Chalk

Craft Materials Needed:

• Painting pigment (any color you like)
• Gypsum powder
• Water
• Pipe wrapping paper
• Waxed paper
• Masking tape
• Sandwich bags (or any plastic bag for holding the mixture)
• Scissors

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 to 3 tablespoons of painting pigment with 12 cups of water. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
2. Add the gypsum powder gradually while continuing to stir. Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.
3. Pour the mixture into the pipe wrapping paper or sandwich bags, sealing them tightly with masking tape to prevent leaks.
4. Place the sealed bags on a flat surface and let them dry at room temperature for at least 12 hours, or overnight for best results.
5. Once fully dried, cut open the bags and remove the chalk sticks. You can now use them for drawing, coloring, or even as decorative items.
