Germany releases "Future Energy" monitoring report

Editor's note: The energy issue is something we have to pay attention to and think about. The German government released the first monitoring report on "future energy" on the 19th. From the evaluation report, we can see that Germany hopes to pass "future energy". Monitoring process, reviewing the policies and measures for abandoning the conversion of nuclear energy to renewable energy from June 2011 to the present, and summarizing experience for future development. In the report, the experts affirmed the achievements of the German energy conversion, but raised their own doubts: the existing, partly from the energy saving efficiency measures during the first oil crisis in 1973, whether it can achieve the federal government Set goals. The media also commented on the monitoring report, arguing that Germany has not done enough to improve energy efficiency, and directly criticized Germany's stagnation in connecting renewable energy to the grid construction.

The German government released the first monitoring report on "energy in the future" on the 19th, detailing Germany's achievements in the energy conversion process as of 2011, and analyzing future goals and measures to achieve energy conversion.

The monitoring report is jointly prepared by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Ministry of the Environment, and will be published after it is approved by the Federal Cabinet. From the evaluation report, we can see the development of Germany's energy policy based on the accelerated elimination of nuclear energy. Germany hopes to review the policy and measures of abandoning the conversion of nuclear energy to renewable energy from June 2011 to the present through the monitoring process of "future energy" and to summarize experience for future development.

The report comprehensively analyzes all aspects of German energy in 2011. In terms of greenhouse gas emission reductions, the reduction in 2011 was 26.4% compared with 1990, and the target by 2020 is to reduce 40%, and by 2050 it will be reduced by more than 80%. In terms of efficiency, primary energy consumption was reduced by 6% in 2011 compared with 2008, and the target by 2020 is to reduce by 20%. In terms of building energy efficiency, the house renovation rate in 2011 was 1%, and the demand in this area is at least 2% per year. The final energy consumption in the transportation sector fell by only 0.5% in 2011 compared with 2005, and this value will drop to 10% by 2020. About 6,600 electric vehicles were put into use in Germany in 2011, and the government's goal is to reach 1 million by 2020. In the field of renewable energy, Germany ’s renewable energy produced 21.3% of the total electricity production in 2011, and it will reach at least 35% by 2020.

The monitoring report's assessment of the development of renewable energy is relatively positive. In 2011, Germany's renewable energy accounted for 12.1% of the final energy consumption. The evaluation of the construction industry is generally positive. Since 1996, with the increase in living space by 14% over the same period in the past, household energy consumption has fallen by 11%. Even so, the German government is not optimistic about achieving the 2050 target. At that time, the demand for primary energy in the construction field will be reduced by about 80%, which requires increasing the proportion of buildings that are completely renovated each year from the current 1% to 2%. The demand in the transportation field is also the same. To achieve the requirement of a 40% reduction by 2050 compared to 2008, the current work is obviously far from enough.

It is worth mentioning that, according to relevant procedures, at the same time that the government issued a monitoring report, an independent committee composed of 4 well-known energy experts also released a scientific report on the monitoring report. In the report, the experts affirmed the achievements of the German energy conversion, but raised their own doubts: the existing, partly from the energy saving efficiency measures during the first oil crisis in 1973, whether the Federal Government Set goals. The media also commented on the monitoring report, arguing that Germany has not done enough to improve energy efficiency, and directly criticized Germany's stagnation in connecting renewable energy to the grid construction.
