Flexographic printing was originally referred to as flexographic printing and originated in the United States in the early 1920s because the use of aniline dye inks was toxic and not developed. Since the mid-1970s, due to the advancement of the material industry, especially the introduction of polymer resin plates and cermet anilox rollers, the development of flexographic printing has made a qualitative leap, and it has become the fastest growing worldwide. The printing methods, especially in the United States, have been fully developed. Both the printing press manufacturing technology and flexo printing application technology represent the highest level of flexographic printing. Most of the merchandise packages seen in the US domestic market are almost all flexographic products. According to statistics, currently in the United States, the market share of flexographic printing accounts for 70% in the field of flexible packaging printing, 85% in label printing, 98% in corrugated box printing, and 25% in carton printing. In Europe, the market share of flexographic printing in the above-mentioned packaging sector also accounts for 60%, 35%, 85% and 3%, respectively. The difference between flexographic printing and other printing methods lies in its unique features. This is the most basic requirement for packaging printing, and it is also not easily achieved by the offset printing method.
2. Widely used non-toxic aqueous ink printing. Flexo ink is the only non-toxic ink approved by the American Food and Drug Association in all printing inks. As a result, flexographic printing is also known as green printing and is widely used in the packaging of instruments and pharmaceuticals, which is beyond the reach of other printing methods.
3. Wide range of printable media. Flexo printing machines can not only print all kinds of paper, but also can print aluminum foil, plastic film, self-adhesive paper, self-adhesive film, cellophane, metal foil and textiles. The types of printable media are more than gravure printing methods. In addition to the offset printing method, the rest of the media cannot be printed or printed badly.

Almost all paper and plastic packaging products can be printed by flexo printing, and the printing effect on plastic film can be comparable to that of gravure printing. Flexographic printing can achieve high precision, but due to the embossing method and the reason of anilox roller transfer, the high-precision screening image quality still cannot be compared with offset printing. In the field of high-grade pictures and books and periodicals printing, the glue method is undoubtedly superior to flexo printing, but in the field of packaging and printing, flexographic printing has advantages that are not comparable to offset printing. First of all, ink consistency is the most basic requirement for packaging printing. In China, flexographic printing started relatively late. In the mid-1980s, it began to introduce simple laminated flexo presses. In recent years, with the improvement of foreign flexographic printing technologies, Chinese industry professionals have also gained a new understanding of flexographic printing processes and technologies, and have begun to introduce high-quality flexographic printing presses. The reference to any new technology will encounter more or less difficulties and problems. Flexo printing is no exception. The first is the procurement of various supporting materials, and there are many supporting materials required for flexo printing. Imports were required several years ago. In recent years, the rapid development of flexographic printing has led to the development of related materials industries. There are some related issues. The materials have already begun production in China and can be used as an alternative to imports. For example, ink-and-wash ink manufacturers have spread all over the country, and anilox rollers and die-cutting cylinders have been produced in Shanghai. Some of them are still imported, such as plates, tapes, etc., but purchases have become as simple as purchasing film. The second is the live source problem. Flexible printing can be flexible and varied in terms of batch volume compared to gravure printing. However, due to its high printing efficiency, normal start-up also requires a large source of jobs. Take cigarette packs as an example, a 16-inch flexographic printing press must have at least 100,000 large boxes a year to feed. Once again, flexographic printing has its own unique process characteristics. From pattern design to color selection, the flexographic strengths should be highlighted to avoid the weaknesses of flexo. At present, there is still a lack of packaging designers who understand the flexo printing process. Many products are directly transferred from flexographic printing to flexo printing. They cannot avoid weaknesses and reduce the degree of satisfaction of end customers for flexo products, thus affecting people’s satisfaction. Flexographic understanding and understanding. In addition, the issue of concept is also a problem that restricts the development of flexo printing. In the past few years, there were two very extreme views. At a glance, flexo printing was so good that it would replace gravure in the future and even replace offset printing. Second, flexo printing was so bad that it could only print very few times. These arguments have been biased, and the correct positioning of flexo printing should be: a low-input, high-output applicable technology in the field of packaging and printing. Many brands of flexographic printing presses have been introduced domestically and most of them are successful. However, there are some factories that have gone blind because they have little knowledge of the characteristics of flexo printing and have more or less blindness. They either chose the wrong size or chose the wrong configuration. The only way to avoid detours is to learn more and fully understand the process characteristics of flexographic printing. You must not apply the old experience of offset printing or gravure printing to explain flexo printing. For example, in terms of size, the larger the number of open positions is, the better the offset printing is, because the same number of prints can produce more products; while flexo printing is not the case, and the efficiency is achieved by the speed of the machine. When the job is allowed, the size is appropriate. can. The small size means that the use of low cost, small size of equipment from the roller to the die-cutting roller are small, plate material, tape, plate making costs are naturally saved. The small size also means that the cumulative error during the operation is small, and the quality control is also easy. Of course, it can't be generalized. It's better to choose a satellite wide-width machine for printing plastic film, because its tension change is easy to control. There are also configuration problems. Do not blindly pursue extra functions that are not used for the time being. In fact, a flexo printer is itself a combination of multiple functions. These combinations can be completed before shipment or added during use. It is unwise and uneconomic to align all the functions. It will not be late if necessary.
