U.S. developed a self-heating plastic container

After more than four years of research and experimentation, On-Tro Co. of California, USA has recently successfully developed new plastic packaging containers that can be heated by themselves. This self-heating plastic container can heat the contents of the package to a suitable temperature within 5 minutes. This natural plastic container is a blow-molded container consisting of a six-layer structure made of polypropylene plastic material. Its ingredients have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and can be recycled.

The self-heating plastic container heating process is designed to be simple and convenient. This type of container consists of a two-piece, seamless body and a heat pack. The body is a conical internal tank that contains quicklime (calcium oxide). The beverage is filled on the side of the cone heating tank. When using, remove the anti-counterfeiting film and expose the button. Use hand-drawn buttons. The inner seal of the heating tank body is damaged by external force and the water leaks from the heated cone portion, causing an exothermic effect with calcium oxide and heating the contents of the food or drink.

A food or beverage filled on the outside of the heating cone can quickly rise above about 24° C. at its original temperature, and this temperature can be maintained for about 20 minutes. For different contents, the heating temperature can be varied in the range of 38°C to 80°C (±5°C).

This self-heating plastic container developed and manufactured by ONTRO can be used for high temperature autoclaving, hot filling, aseptic filling and ultra-high temperature sterilization processes. This self-heating plastic tank container can be processed into a variety of different sizes and shapes, filled coffee, hot chocolate and soup products, and is very popular with consumers after its release.
